Colonel please help..... AGAIN!!!
I had one bolt vibrate out of the butterfly on the Qtec. No big deal. We installed another one and loctited them. I suggest you do the same during installation.
The headers went in with no real problems although it was a tedious job. I think they mentioned unbolting the K-member and droping the engine down a bit to make installation easier. I think others usually undo an engine mount and jack one side of the engine up. Having a lift is a serious help.
My Y-pipe hits the bottom of the car during hard 1st gear acceleration only (no other rattles, squeaks, creaks, or other annoying sounds) but this is due to the way my guys welded it together. They were shooting for as much ground clearance as possible and got a little too close on the driver's side. Notice I said they welded my Y-pipe together. Most folks would simply use the provided clamps. I told them to weld it just out of personal preference.
My suspension is %100 stock but I did cut the front springs and removed the rear spring cushions to lower the car an inch...not that any of this would have any bearing at all on the header installation or clearance.
This car is an '02 Z28. It ran 7.50@89.75 MPH in the 1/8 yesterday, internally stock at full weight with 3.23 gears.
I'm VERY happy with these headers and would recommend them to anyone who demands the best. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
