Red face Throttle body cable question..
I was cleaning up my engine bay the other day, and noticed how filmsy my throttle body cable was. If I push down on the cable it goes down quite far. My question is, is it supposed to be like that or should it be tight? Hope I made sense here.

theres normally a good bit of slack in it.if you have someone else push it down, you can see your gas pedal go up as they do it..
as long as the cable pulls the throttlebody to WOT, its fine.

you can adjust it to be tighter.... just do some searching on here...

thanks for the replies guys.. now my question is..does it need to be adjusted tighter? Would i notice any difference in throttle response?

depends on how loose.... if you can almost unhook it from the linkage they i would say yes..... it doesnt have to be super tight, but obviously the less slack the better throttle responce it will have

I'm pretty sure it will need adjustment.. I read the thread where you described adjusting it.. is there a write up with pics or anything on how to do it?

there are plastic clicps that lift up and u can slide it either way... you will see when you look.... i need a job like that....
