Default Oil out of Cutout?

Ok, my friend just got done replacing my rear pinion seal, putting new fluid in the rear and tranny, and replacing the fuel filter. He told me that while he was under the car, he saw oil right after where my cutout is, but that he looked at it while the car was on and everything, and it's not spitting it. So what could have caused my car to have oil come out the exhaust, and also, about a month ago, at rpms over 5,000 every now and then, I hear a weird noise and the car starts to lose power, that's why I was told to try replacing the fuel filter, cause a friend took it for a drive and said that it's like pingin or detonating at top end and feels like it's not gettin enough fuel. If anyone knows what's goin on with my car, please let me know, i'm kind of scared, I hope nothing is majorly wrong!!! Thanx guys!

I highly doubt its motor oil. Its probably just gear lube from your leaky pinion seal. While you go down the road the lube got thrown onto your floor board.

As for your other problem, I would auto tap and see if you are getting any KR. How old are your plugs, wires, ect.

And the last time he looked at it, was right before I went to the track, although he's tellin me it can't be the gear oil, but i'm gonna be optimistic, and hope that's it. And as for the other problem, i've done like 4-5 wot runs in 1st and 2nd gear to the shift light since I got it back from the fuel filter being replaced, and haven't heard the noise, so I think the fuel filter solved it, woohoo!!!! But the plugs and wires are the next thing to go, they're still stock with 34,700 miles on the car. I'm gonna get NGK TR55's and Taylor Thundervolts!! Thanks again for the info, I really hope it is just oil sprayed from the leaking pinion seal. But i'm definately gonna keep an eye on it.

No problem, glad to help. Maybe you should clean up the oily area w/some engine cleaner or some kind of solvent and check it once and a while. Assuming that the pinion seal is no longer leaking it should stay clean.

Good luck <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
