Default Fitting Under Driven Pulley

Done one of these on a manual (M6) no worries but a mate wants me to fit one to his A4 .

How are people out there locking the crankshaft from turning so bolt can be removed and tightened ?

Cheers
John

The easiest way is to drop the starter and jam a screw driver into the flexplate. Or you can go the expensive route and buy the actual tool.

i used a 1 inch impact wrench because even in gear my pulley was spinning with both belts still on , i had to take out my radiator fans to fit the impact wrench in there but even with that big bitch, it still took awhile for it to come off...

Used a good 1/2" impact. It took the bolt right out even with no trans in the car or anything holding the flexplate.

Yeah the impact wrench should spin it off too fast for the rest to catch up.
