Default GMMG or True duals?

I currently have the GMMG and I think it sounds real good, but I met a guy about a month ago and he had an LS1 SS with true duals out the back under the axle with dynomax bullets. He said bullet so I think its dynomax unless there's other bullet ones. Anyway his car sounded so ****** good. It sounded a lot like my friends 04 cobra with a loudmouth. Do you think I should sell my GMMG to get true duals??

Duals will net you more power, and they sound really good. If your planning to go cam, headers, etc then I say go with the duals. If your going to stay bolt ons then stay with the gmmg as it sounds awesome, but just doesnt quite make the power duals do. If he said bullets its probably dynomax bullets, but people have used the borla xr-1's and other bullet style mufflers to make duals so its probably best to ask him his exact setup. However, duals run out the back and over the rear axle are expensive. Expect to pay around 800-1200 dollars dpeending on the shop you go to.

If you are willing to get rid of your current exhaust for the duals then go for it. I love the sound of duals, I will never get a catback y pipe setup ever.

your friend most likely had duals with long tube headers. That's why it sounded so good. If you get long tube headers, you will NOT pass emmisions in cali even if you have 17 cats

if the price is a wash, my vote goes with yes. basically if you can get $500 for the gmmg, i'd go the route of duals. just make sure that if you desire an aftermarket torque arm, you get it BEFORE you get duals since you'll likely have serious fitment issues if you get one after duals.

get LT's first before you do anything though. just make sure you don't buy a y-pipe too or else you're wasting your money

I was going to say the same thing. Get some LT's and it will make a world of difference with the gmmg. If its still not good enough for you, you can then sell the gmmg and get the duals

My buddies work at GMMG. They dynoed cars with open headers, then put on the GMMG exhaust. This was on a H/C car and only made a difference of 3 hp. So, unless every thousandth of a second counts and your car is completely gutted, only change your exhaust for the sound. Don't worry about the performance. I've changed my exhaust out six times, and keep coming back to the 4" mufflex, and Love it.

No. It is the after market ones that get in the way.
