I don't think you're gonna fit a Borla XR-1 in place of the resonator. Not enough room.

Go to http://www.borla.com/motorsports/?ca...866.30.228.180 and check out the XR-1 lines of mufflers. I think they are typically like 4.5"x8" or so. You might be able to fit them vertically but not horizontally.

Assuming that's 4" around and 9" long, yeah, that'll fit fine.

Most people put dynomax bullets or chambered mufflers or resonators in the i-pipe. You really can't fit much more than 4" diameter mufflers in there, and even that is pretty close.

The DynoMax bullet 24222 is not nearly as loud in there as some folks think. Until 3k rpm it is actually fairly quiet. After 3k it screams pretty good though.
The LM is louder.

If you wanted to go quieter with the bullet, use the long bullet... DynoMax 24219.

If that 4x9 means 9 wide, 4 tall, you don't have a chance. The 4 wide bullet is very close to the driveshaft.

Dave

BTW: I have 3 sound clips with the short bullet on page 2 of my webpage.
One is mostly idle. (quiet)
One is WOT accelleration. (loud)
One is a dyno run. (through the gears nice and easy, then WOT)

Actually you can install an XR1 in place of the resonator because Crager who posts on here has done that.

I've got some 12" XR1 sportsmans on my duals, you can see them at www.ls1tech.com/psjpics...

The mufflers are not very tall.
