http://www.raceher.com/reviews/

what it is, is my bone stock (good for a control) car on a dyno before and after full synthetic Amsoil change, then I tested the Amsoil air filter vs. K&N air filter vs. paper filter and finally stock lid vs. MTI lid.

Post here what you all think..

I was just tired of going off of heresay.. I wanted hard proof..

Good stuff. I love seeing stuff like this. Weird results with the air filters though, that kinda surprised me.

Thanks for the data. Has anyone come up with a plausible reason why GM would leave 10 hp on the table? Is there some annoying sound without the stock lid's resonators?

Nope.. No sounds whatsoever that I have noticed at all.
After a day of driving with the MTI lid on and still the paper filter, I will say that the car accelerates smoother.. I know it has more power but I am not going so far as to say WOW! I can feel it! Its just that the power delivery and flow seems to be more refined.. That is very kewl..
In an hour I leave for a 2000 mile trip.. (I am behind schedule!) I will see if fuel economy has suffered at all.

the airlid does make more noise than stock. it was the first mod i did and i noticed a rushing sound at WOT but the LM fixed that. ive seen the info on the paper filter before but it's comforting to see dyno results to verify its performance, i use the paper fram personally.

I just put a lid on last week (Thanks for the hook up Wilwaxu), and can only hear the difference with the hod up while manually goosing throttle, no additional noise that I can hear during normal driving.

Sound update:
I can hear a slight sound.. but its at moderate throttle as high throttle sends in more wind noise that drowns it out.. Its not something I would call LOUD or ANNOYING, just another engine sound really...

I just returned from a 2000 mile drive (1000 there and 1000 back)... Had lots of time to listen.. hehhe
