Default Exhaust

I just purchased a cutout from Stephen and I'm in the process of ordering the electronic adapter for the cutout. I was thinkin about getting the cats removed when I get this installed how much louder will it make the Hooker Catbacks that i have on it now with the cats removed? I don't really want it much louder but I want to run the one cutout in the I pipe in the exaust so I'd only have one and I want it to be open from the exaust manifolds since i don't have headers. Would it make a lot of a difference in the loudness level through the hooker catbacks?

Wassup? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

It will be a bit louder. Not a huge difference but you may also get some drone at some rpms (generally 2000-3000). You may, you may not. I think with your exhaust you will get at least some. With a quiet exhaust (like the stock one) you wouldn't.

If you do happen to end up with an annoying drone you can pretty much fix this with a bullet muffler installed just before the cuttout. I think a Dynomax bullet is about $30 or so.

you remove you cats on a hooker cat-back and it will be pretty loud. you won't have much drone unless the cut-out is open. but you wasted money on a cut out the three bolts in front of the muffler can be removed and you can drop the muffler and tail pipes and save weight as well as be really loud. you won't have as much drone with it opened there instead of in front of the axle.

well Cody.....I'm getting the Electric cutout adaptor so i never have to get outta the car. I like it from what I've seen on Colonial's car. I don't want it to be too loud with the hookers on but we'll see what happens i guess.....thanx Justin

i took my cats off my 99 ta A4. i had a flowmaster muffler and you could tell it was louder, but it wasnt too loud, it had a nice sound to it. i also have a cut out on the I pipe. it sounds really bad *** with it uncapped. i used to leave it uncapped all the time. trust me people will hear you comin. i always got compliments on how good it sounds.
