Lemme ask the obvious. Is your fluid low?

Since when is 34K miles over warranty? Shouldn't it be 36K?

...car is 99 so it is out of warranty right?

anyway the fluid was slightly burned so I changed it several times. The last time I added some honey oil stuff for power steering units that looks like STP.

The sqeeling ceased for a few months but, like Arnie in Terminator - ITS BACK!!!!!

I was going to replace the unit a while back but it was a $350 part at the dealer and the parts store was about $200 but not in stock....

...so I guess I will bite the bullet - right?

Hey Robert,
My PS pump has made noise since the day I bought it... Mine is pretty loud sometimes, but never screaming. I guess I know what I'm in store for! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Parts.com has it for less. All OEM new parts:

Steering, P/S Pump & Hoses, P/S Pump, 5.7L $181.94

That's where I bought my oil pump and gaskets. Quick delivery too!
