Default Underdrive pullys, which one?

Is one better than the other? Looking at ordering one today or tomorrow. SLP or ASP? I know the powerbond is the SLP. March, I thought I heard about some issues.

just had the pwerbond installed. damn its nice compared to the stock 1. if you go with asp i hear you gotta buy the katech tensioner to prevent belt slippage. this is why i jumped on the powerbond

Should have got the march no issues with ls1 pulleys some of there other products got recalled but Ls1 pulley has fluid damper

I've seen alot more problems with belt throwing/slippage out of the March pullies than the ASP's lately.

I think the Powerbond/SLP pulley is the best.

SLP's new 25% underdrive balancer for LS1 F-Bodies incorporates a number of high-quality features you won't find on any other aftermarket unit. i put on the slp underdrive pulley on my car a couple days after installing a mezeir water pump... the water pump gave more noticible effect on performance.. but the slp is well made , alot nicer then the stocker and the belts they recomend are even alil tighter then the stock belts with stock pulley.. the stocker was a bitch to get off, retards should of desined it to have atleast bolt holes in it or something , with the slp i know if i ever need to take it off atleast i got an easier way.. i redlined my car alot since its been on so i dont think its going to slip off the grooves are deeper then stock and its shinny too haha .. but some advise.. leave the pulley in the box till your ready to install, i had mine out for a couple days and the inside started to rust alil.had to use a washer and a small sledge hammer to get it on far enough to catch the threads .. also make sure you got a few rows of threads before you use the bolt to pull the pulley in.. you dont wanna strip the crank threads.

Are the ASP or SLP ones SFI approved at all? I don't know how serious track techs are about SFI approved balancers and flywheels with low 11 and mid 10 cars on test n tune nights.

I think I'm going to order one in the next few days to go along with the rest of my motor I'm putting together. For the same price as the SLP one, I can get the ASP one with the alternator pulley too...which would probably be a good idea for me if I'm going to have a 10" sub in the back too..

My ASP is SFI apprived. Has the SFI sticker on the front.

The newer ASP pully's are SFI approved, the older ones were not.

I have a March Pulley on my 3rd gen and never had a problem.
I just got my belts in the mail yesterday so my March pulley,160 thermostat and SSRA will be going this week hope to see some extra power.

id say the march pully is most likely alot lighter, especially if its all aluminum.. my slp one was almost as heavy as the bigger stocker.

i have to vote SLP cuz i run the SLP pulley and have had no concerns. i did have to change out my belts after 1 year due to noise, but thats about it.

The March is actually one of the heaviest pieces. It is manufactured from carbon steel and filled with high viscosity fluid. However the Horsepower is not achieved through the loss of reciprocting mass so it is irrelevant. The horesepower is achieved through the differnet size of the pulley drastically affecting accessory belt speed. All the companys listed March, ASP, and SLP average about 10-12 hp gains with crank pulley when adding the overdrive alt pulley you should see an average of 8-10 hp. Another thing that you should look for is an SFI approval. I belive all that are listed have them now but that is something that you may want to look into.
