Diagnostics Code P102? Has my MAF Sensor Gone Bad?
Finally I broke down and had it diagnostically scanned today at Advance Auto Parts and Im throwing code P102. If I remember correctly its Mass Air Flow Sensor Low Voltage. So what Im asking is, would a bad MAF sensor do as I described above? My car is a 98 Trans Am A4 with 106,000 miles on it.
So before I break down and buy a new MAF, I want to know whether you think I need a new MAF, or something maybe wrong in the wiring, since it says low voltage. (I think thats the code description)
All help is much appreciated....
Thanks in Advance
Is the ENG SEN fuse blown?
Is the MAF sensor getting a full 5V with ignition on?
You can disconnect the connector and check the voltage from the hot wire to ground with the ignition on.
I believe any non-metered air coming in or a vacuum leak will set the DTC,also.
That's all I can think of right now w/o digging out the Helms manual. I think there's a bunch of different checks that can be made if you can get your hands on a Helms.
