Default 02 sims

do they go bad? i finally got my car rebuilt and it hesitates, doesnt have the power it should and its a bitch to drive, feels like its not getting fuel. i pulled some plugs and it looks like the engines running lean. i got a code check and its saying o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 which is the sim on my driver side right? could that have anything to do w/ the way its running and the lack of fuel? i also need a tune pretty bad w/ a f14 cam, lts, no cats/emmisions etc. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Sims can go bad, but that's not the problem, sensor 2 is just to let the PCM know the cat is functional, does nothing else
Check/replace the fuel filter (easy), pump (it's a bitch to replace), fuel pressure (get a guage)
IMO it's the cam being untuned that's the cause

yeah the rear o2 sims dont really cause the car to run bad, I know some people who drove without them for a while and still did not delete the codes

Your car is going to run like **** untuned with an F14, trustith me.

I think my car was also running very lean when it was untuned as the headers got hot enough to melt my plug wires, which they never did before. After it was tuned, they never melted again either.

The car is definatly not getting enough fuel if it's untuned, mine wouldn't rev over 4k before the tune.
