Default 3" y-pipe with flowmaster collector

I have had a 3" y-pipe for awhile now and it just went into a 3" intermediate pipe with a bullet muffler and a turndown.

Just the other day I had a flowmaster collector put on the end of the y-pipe and a 4" bullet muffler and turndown. The sound of the car didnt change very much except at WOT but the power increases were phenominal I decided to go this route opposed to the true dual setup just to do something different and I am glad I did.

I cant compare power numbers to a true dual setup but I am definatly pleased with the power the car is making now. I just thought I would share my experiences with everyone.

Hmmmmm..are you talking about the flowmaster 2 into one merging piece or do you have headers? I've seen that in Jegs catalog but it was to take two 2 1/2" pipes to a single 3". Is that the one?

I have Grot. longtubes with a custom built 3" y-pipe, and the flowmaster collector that goes from two 3" pipes into one 4" then I got a 4" bullet muffler right on the end of the collector and a mandrel bent 4" turndown right on the end of the bullet.

I got the flowmaster collector too to help the bottleneck at the y on my ypipe..my exhaust is ceramic coated hooker longtubes, hooker y-pipe, 3 inch flowmaster collector into 4 inch with 4 inch to 3 inch reducer to 3 inch pipe to 3 inch cutout..strictly 3 inch exhuast with no restrictions lol but I like it..unbelievabLS1 that post on here recommended that exhaust for me

A 4" pipe has almost the same area as 2 3" pipes so it should flow just as good. The flowmaster ypipe set up should make just as much hp as true duals with xpipe. It would make for an interesting dyno test and sound comparison.

Once the weather clears up I will get some video footage of my car at WOT and rip it for everyone.
