a/c clutch question

a/c clutch question Don't know much about a/c. I usually take car to professional in most a/c problems. However, money is tight and gas is expensive. I live in Las Vegas and regular is 3.18. Anyway, can you remove the clutch from the compressor without removing the refrigerant. Clutch is broken and I have not lost refrigerant, so that means compressor is ok right!!! Any opinions, suggestions and facts would be greatly appreciated.

I looked high and low, (even at hi-low
) and couldn't find a clutch for my reman compressor. The parts stores couldn't even order one. I ended up getting another reman compressor, so now I have a spare when it goes out that needs the clutch off of it. I've got a 34k mile 'vette compressor for sale if you need one for a 'vette! It's an AC Delco OEM piece. 
$80 shipped.
I bought it from a member, both of us under the impression it would fit on an f-body, but it won't.

same problem here...my clutch is sounding bad, oriellys said i could replace the bearing. 20$ but the said i would have to recharge all the lines and stuff. so there is a way to get the clutch off without taking the compressor out?
I had the a/c clutch go out on my 95 3.4l camaro. My mechanic put a used a/c compressor on the car because I couldn't afford a new compressor at the time, but it still ended up costing over $200.
