Hooker exhaust Hello all, newbie here. I want to put an exhaust system on my car. I already have the SLP upgraded exhaust (not the loudmouth) and want to put a system on that will give a better "sound check" to the "tone challenged". I dont think I will see any performance increases. So would it be better to buy a catback or just buy a hooker muffler if you can do that to make the sound better. I am looking for a sound increase in all areas but mostly at WOT. Anyone know of maybe something better than hooker for that job.
Re: Hooker exhaust i think that the hooker exhaust is great. roars at wot, not too loud unless you remove your cats, but when you do you'll be noticed by people.

Re: Hooker exhaust Another vote for the hooker cat-back. But, if you have the factory SLP dual dual, I've heard that you can remove a plate or something in one of the pipes and it will sound better.

I went with an SLP Y-Pipe, and a Hooker Muffler on my '01 Z-28. The sound is nominal at normal traffic speeds, and cruising on the freeway. At Wide open throttle is does have a very pronounced note. By going with just the Hooker muffler I was able to keep the stock exhaust tips.
