Will porting mac headers weaken them?

Will porting mac headers weaken them? I just received my mac headers and ORP in the mail today <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I was wondering if porting the tubes (I guess that basically consists of grinding off the excess weld) would make them weaker in the long run? The removing this welding material cause them to rust through quicker in those spots?
In other words, is there ANYTHING bad about porting them?

Re: Will porting mac headers weaken them? well i just did this last night. it's going to take alittle time but i think it's worth it. as far as weaking the headers i don't think it will make to much of a differance do to the fact that a good weld penetrates the metal. just don't grind to much. good luck I love the new power hate the new rasp!!! <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

Re: Will porting mac headers weaken them? I ground 'all' of the weld from the inside of the primaries. An employee at an exhaust shop I trust said that it should be fine doing this. I had to ask someone because I don't know much about welding. I don't really have to worry about them rusting because I got them ceramic coated.
