Mac Mid Lengths/ORYP rubbing, vibrating under car, help?
Hey, I had some Mac Headers/ORYP Installed at this shop. However, test driving it everything sounded fine until I accelerated quickly only to feel something rubbing and vibrating like Hell under the car. I was told that the ORYP being rounded and not flat like the stock Y I needed a special mount or bracket to stop this noise when accelerating. Have any of you guys had this problem? How did ya'll fix it? What kind of bracket or mount is needed? This should have been fixed by this shop huh?

I have a round Y-pipe (Bassani) and it does not bang or vibrate. I think the issue is that they postitioned the Y-pipe too close to the floorboards and now it's hitting when you give it some gas. I'd try and bend the pipe down a little with a pry bar or maybe try and loosen it and re-adjust it.
All you need to do is get under the car and loosen the Y on the drivers side at the header and where it meets up under the drivers seat. You will see the bolts, loosen them off and angle the pipe down ever so slightly as it is bangin on the bottom of the car when the engine torques/twists at WOT. It happens to a lot of us until you get that angle right.

Thanks for the input However, I feel that the shop should have to do that because I paid them money to install that and they should know that futhermore right? I am not going to call any names but they have been on front covers of GM High Performance Magazine.
