Clean welds after JetHot?

Clean welds after JetHot? I ordered MACs w/ JetHot coating, of course unfortunately some of the welds need to be cleaned up. If I clean up the welds will this compromise the JetHot coating? I would hate to have rusty headers even more so than any performance hit I would take with the extra weld slag.
