Default To do or not to do Torque Converter

I am debating to install Yanks 2800 series converter. For the money is it a good investment for cruising the streets. I have an 02 WS-6 with SLP air box, Y pipe and Flowmaster. Thanks

I would say not to do it, IMO. Why? Cause a 2800 stall is waaaay too small to be worth while, IMO. 3500 true stall should be the minimum...at this point I wish I had gone with a 4000 stall last time my tranny was out. Either way though, if you're going to spend the money and take the time to do a converter swap, personally I would only look at 3500 or bigger 'verters. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

i agree rpm ws6. no need to spend that much money on a small converter. if you do decide to get one, do a lot of research of different models and gear ratios because it'll definitely change the way the car drives. there is tons of info in this database. the Vig 'verters stall higher than they're rated. my PI3200 stalls around 3600. good luck. also think about a tranny cooler.

without a doubt YES! The absolute best mod for an Auto. Do agree, go with a 3200 or higher stall converter in a LS1 car.
