Default Header Poll II

I've added a couple more choices

With the help of this board I've narrowed down my choices on headers. I have a 2001 M6 SS lowered about 1.5" with the eibach pro. The car is getting ready for Heads, Cam, gears etc. and I'm going bite the bullet and do the headers as well. I will most likely do an off road y-pipe with Random Tech cats because I'm not reading to many positives on the "header package deals" with cats and y-pipe. so I need your help and these are the conditions in order of priority (1) being the highest. This is my first poll so if I do something that doesn't make sense you know why

1) Ground Clearance
2) Quality of product
3) Functionality
4) Price (Just because price is listed last doesn't mean I want to pay $1200-$1500 for headers but if you get that much more for the money so be it)

This is like a freaking test. Just get some QTPs or PPCs and throw em on. They are all the same pretty much. Youll want a true dual later on anyway, I know I do, so just get a cheap OR pipe and tighten that byotch up.

there are no correct answers. These are all opinions.

you might as well just look at a few types and vote. see how other people compare to what you think.

As with any poll this one is almost too general for every application. If you want mid-lengths, MAC's rule because they are about the only option.
If you want the cheapest LT headers uncoated like I did, the Hookers are the best bang for the buck by far

If you want pretty coated headers, and cats in the y-pipe etc, the others are a good choice.

It still depends on what you want because I don't see any clear cut winners.

The guys above are right though, it is an opinion. But I believe the best advice/opinions come from the end user. However, I'm surprised that the PPC isn't doing as nearly as well as I thought it would. I'm wondering why

Didn't vote because I am unsure of the answers of you questions. You ever think about Jet-Hot Hookers. That what I heard was good and considering getting when I am ready for headers. Ground Clearance on them I heard was pretty good.

QTP and PPC...previously were about the same. Unedumacated voters didnt know bassanis will have better clearance than long tubes. Hookers mey be the least expensive, but that doesn't mean best bang for the buck. Go

SS I was only kidding when I made that comment
"Will there be a Header Poll III"
It's good to get as much info as you can on a product before you purchase it. Especially with the prices of some of the performance products.
I don't have headers on my car as of yet, I am just working on a cam... But from what I read I like the JBA shorty headers.. Out of the choices you had I like the Hooker....

My response was meant that way as well. I've seen the JBA's but I heaven't heard anything about them. I've also read that shorty's aren't really worth the money either. That's why I've been concentrating on mid-length to LT's. I'm favoring the PPC's right now because it's everything I want (except the price)in one package. I don't need them right this second so I'm going to wait and learn as much as I can before I have to buy. I've got 2-4 weeks before the actual install.

I may look a little more into it. I'd like to know how many of you have had different cats welded into your y-pipe. Was it a major issue or not?

I have a steep dirveway and at it's crest I can just slip my fingers between my Dr's SFC and the cement. I'm thinking that flange could become a problem and one that I'd rather not risk the $$$ and time on.
FLP's, I'll take a closer look at at those but they seem pretty much like the QTP's PPC's etc.
SLP, again very nice but I've read their clearance was among the worst.
