Dynoed the Formula yesterday
I was the only GM that dynoed that day because I went up to the dyno with a local Mustang club. I wasnt planning on dynoing just they had an empty spot waiting for people to show so I threw her up there. I work with a couple of the guys that dynoed both have an 2002 GT. One with k&n, C&L Maf, 75mm TB, X-pipe, catback, alum driveshaft and 3.73's only put 241hp to the wheels. All that money and still only got those number j/k I know, I know the LS1 has more cubes.
There were some impressive Mustangs there. There were 2 Stage 3 Roushs (?sp) with the roots type blowers that put 34? to the wheels. There was also an 03 Cobra that had every bolt on k&n, Intake tube, TB, pulleys, x-pipe, catback and I believe the Lightening blower pully that put out 391hp
Finally the 2 most impressive was a GT with all forged bottom end w/ Vortec and aftercooler running I think 12 lbs. making 396hp and also a Stage 2 Roush with a Vortec that didnt dyno that day but puts out 523HP on a dynojet dyno.
I asked the owner about the difference between his Mustang dyno and the Dynojet dyno. He said that his dyno will show about 10% lower than if you dynoed on a Dynojet. Sounded right to me seeing that would make the all bolton 03 with 440hp.
That would also me mean that I am making 335 HP and 346 Trq with just a lid and catback. Sorry bout the long post. I'm just still hyped about the whole thing.
