Default **oil leak help**

Alright, heres my problem.

About a month back I started my car, it sputtered after about 5 seconds, shut off. Turned it back on, same thing. Turned it on again, it started up fine and hasn't done anything since.

Did an oil change to synthetic oil about 250 miles ago.

After doing the oil change, I noticed the car was pinging, but I figured it was just the ls1 ping that happens on cold starts. It didn't do it all the time so I figured no big deal, as it would go away after about 20 seconds of the car being on.

Yesterday, I started the car up in the morning to goto school, and it sputtered after about 5 seconds and shut off. Started it back up and it ran fine.

No change in any pressure/volt or any guages when this happens. No SES light or power loss or anything.

Today, my car leaked a good amount of oil while it sat in the garage last night and a little while I was at work this morning. It seems to be coming from the front passenger side of the engine and it is coated on the passenger side of the sway bar and the skid-plate type looking thing that is down there. The oil seems to be right near the bend in the sway bar on the passenger side, but I can't see where it is coming from.

The car started up fine with no pinging today both times I started it. But the oil loss has me worried. Its not coming from the drain plug or the filter but I checked those anyway. My friend told me something about switching to synthetic oil can cause slight leaks because its thinner or something. I'd never heard that before. But this isn't a slight leak.

Any ideas? Thanks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I just looked under the car and oil is basically everywhere.

It is all over the fans, back of the air dam, all over the side of the splash guard, sway bar etc etc.

I have no idea what it could be.
