What is with the K&N FIPK

What is with the K&N FIPK I have heard good things about the K&N FIPK filter setup, i was wondering if it was worth the money or if i would be better off going with a lid and a after market filter?

Re: What is with the K&N FIPK its a great intake, but the problem is it also draws hot air from the engine bay.
Cold air carries more o2 and will make more power than hot air.

Re: What is with the K&N FIPK I saw measureable gains in 60-90 MPH and for the first time broke the 20 MPG commute barrier. And for looks, well, the rest are just "factory" air boxes (save the Volante).

Re: What is with the K&N FIPK Hey Man, I just installed one on my 2002 SS. I like it. Real crisp throttle response. The only time it's inhaling warm engine compartment air is when you're not moving. Duh! Plus I have the bogus air scoop putting some cooler outside air around it. I've seen some air duct set ups that plumb air through the grill openings to 2" holes cut into the metal plate right underneath the filter. I'm gonna do it when I get a chance. Good luck!
