Default SES light = Messed up CATS?

Yesterday while driving to work like I always do, out of know where the SES light came on (about a min away from me parking). I have no idea why it would go off and I want fixed. I'm gussing some O2 sensor just went off because its so cold... but I'm not totally sure so . Does anyone have any idea's...

FYI: I haven't added anything performance or engine wise to the car for over 4 months. My only engine mods include a SLP loudmouth, SLP lid and K&N filter.

Guessing is kind of stupid. Just have it scanned. Most chain auto parts stores will scan it for you for free.

Well I took it to GM and found out whats wrong, and the CATS are messed up... he said because their was no "Back preasure". They are covering it under warrenty, but could this be because of the loudmouth exhaust? Or did my CATS just suck anyways?

You have stock exhaust on the car besides a catback?

They are messing with you.

What was the code, PO430?

it seems that the "no back pressure" is a popular line with the dealers. i saw the same thing in that click and clack auto column in the newspaper. something about burning valves? good luck.

They are fully repairing what they "think" is wrong, which is adding new cats and some other part. When I was keeping a eye on my car their was 4-5 GM tech's and the service manager looking under my car, hehe.

PSJ, yes it is basically a stock exhast system. Just the SLP loudmouth, no headers or ORY (yet ).
