"TICK, TICK, TICK" go my headers....
...And it's driving me crazy!! Will leaking headers cause this noise? I've done the AIR tube mods (placing a smaller-diameter spacer between the tube and fitting), but that didn't cure the noise. In fact, it's getting louder!! All the head bolts are nice and snug, and I can't visually see any pipe leaks. What next? HELP!!

Is this an LT header? If so this is normal, it is the sound that the individual exhaust pulses make when they hit the bottom of the collector. I personally do not like it either, but I do like the power .

are your headers new? if so it will take some time for them to form a proper seal. where exactly is the sound coming from? if you pop your hood and it sounds as if it is coming from within the engine bay then it could be something that you suspect, however if its coming from the underside which is also very normal, then it is where the collectors meet the y-pipe. let me know.

Yea, they're SLP LT's, and the sound is coming from the bottom of the headers. Can't hear it from inside the car (stereo's too loud ) but u can hear it standing next to her. Just live with it? I guess I can do that, if it means keeping the power they bring

It seems that SLP LTs do this more than others.
One other thing to consider is, if you waited a while before doing the AIR plate mod, you may have already damaged the check valves and they may need replacing. Just a possibilty.
