Not to take sides here, but post all you want NightHawk. You're absolutely right. That is the point of this site.

Anyway, we'd better post some tech info here or WILWAXU is going to give us the old "Post some technical content or take it to email" routine. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

ok, I'll post some technical content. The Tornado does work in one aspect. After all the posts I have read (out of pure boredom) it does do one thing. It marginally increases gas mileage. It does this by restricting airflow.

Thanks Camaro LS1. About that throttle body bump stop mod that you did: I had read about it before on install university a while ago and it seems like a very sensible thing to do, but they caution not to preform the mod without the autotap so you don't go OVER 90 degrees. Couldn't the same result be achived carefully with a bubble level? How did you do it?

You don't need ATAP. You can use a voltmeter and you'll achieve the same results. The voltmeter will read 4.7vdc when the throttle blade is open 90* (degrees). I shaved the bump stop down enough so the voltage was 4.64 or 4.65vdc. Anything over 4.7 and you'll throw a code. Just get close. Follow the directions at www.installuniversity.com and you'll be fine. Just use the voltmeter periodically to check your progress. Ken and Al (aka ND4SPD and Dark Age 53 respectively) helped me out a lot with this mod. There is an extensive thread that I started somewhere around August of '02. Try to search for it. The search feature isn't acting right these days though. Feel free to email me or post here with questions.

I HIGHLY recommend doing it through AutoTap as getting the voltage reading from the wire was a pain in the ***.

I drilled mine doen to 89.8* and decided to stop there. This mod along with a ported and polished TB and custom ram air were worth .3 in the 1/4.

About the tornado, I will be dynoing my car soon and if someone can point me to the right place to pick one of these up, I might go and do a back to back run with it installed and not installed and I'll post the results.

Grinding down that damned bump stop took forever though! ATAP would be the preferred method of course. The mod can be done effectively without it though.

Are you guys porting your TB's yourselves or sending it to someone to do it?

You can pick up the tornado at www.jcwhitney.com , there's also another model on the market called the turbonator www.turbonator.com (probably the gayest product name I've heard)
