go only with shorties if you live in CA and need to be smog complient... otherwise SEARCH and READ, LT's are the best exhaust setup for the LS1 engine

Same thing I've heard, shorties won't offer you much performance gain over stock. I say go with LTs, depending on where you live (emissions laws). I have a used set of Pacesetter LTs for sale, if you're interested, PM me.

Go with a set of LTH/ORY/Good catback and everything will be fine.

If you have a 98 or 99 Shorties are fine. Most of your gain with headers is when you remove your cats and get a tune for any car.

Nate, I'd be careful with Urban Legend's advice. In case you were unsure, ORY= Off Road Y pipe and using this on any public road is illegal in all 50 states. Your car needs to have cats to be considered street legal. Now maybe where you live there is no emmisions tests or inspections and in those places you can get by with this setup but it is still ILLEGAL for street use, thus the term OFF ROAD.

If you live in CA and take this advice you will soon find that your car is no longer "road worthy" and the fines that can go along with that are hefty in CA all the way up to impounding your car until you put it back to C.A.R.B. standards. Just be sure of the implications before forging ahead.

Negatory. Just because the 98-99 manifolds were shitty, why the hell wouldn't you want to go for the gold and get longtubes?

The cats only offer a few HP when removed, and people pick up 25rwhp easily while untuned with LT's. I'd be willing to bet that 75% of the people on here with LT's who only have boltons have never had their car tuned.

i agree, i know of two cars locally that have pretty much the same set up as me but different brands who have dynoed between 330-340 untuned, although one of the cars, when tuned didnt gain much if any.

alrite, buy the lt's and the suppoting y or x or w/e you , find someone who is getting rid of their cats and have them gutted and welded into your Lt setupso it looks like ytou have cats, then just swap our your stock exhuast if you need to get smogged or inspected... simple

I would go with the proven performance of the pacesetter long tube if you want a good price for the $. A lot of the above information is good.
