Default Exhaust Question

i have a LS1 98

i have hooker shorties with the stock y pipe right now,,, i am trying to get the most out of my shorties, i don't want to go through the trouble and costs of long tubes,,,,
i live in texas so emessions is going to be a pain

i want a new y pipe

i was thinking, theres several things i can do:

1. have a custom off road y pipe made for me with flanges so i can bolt it and unbolt it,,, about $500
2. have a custom y pipe with high flow cats and push the cats futher back, similating long tube effects,,, more than $500, need cost of cats
3. buy a pipe already made with high flow cats and have put on,,,about $575
4. replace only the flat spot on the stock y and keep cats,,, $75
5. Or do nothing and do another mod like a pulley or something, mods in my sig

thanks for reading this far

High flow cats and y from random tech etc. will be a good bet.
