Default is Ceramic coating really worth it ?

ill be ordering headers some time in the next few days and they will be Hooker LT's...do i want to spend the extra 200 or so to get the ceramic coating? is it really necessary in our cars ? whats the benefit of them besides the look ? will i loose any hp if i dont get ceramic coating on them ?

Headers are not coated for looks. It´s for insulation, you wan´t to keep the exhaust hot to help flow and you want to keep underhood temps low for air density i.e. performance.
