My future setup?
Current:
- SLP LM
- SLP lid and K&N filter
Mods planning to get:
- 3200 stall conv
- Mac headers w/ ORY
Reason for the MAC's is because I'm dropping the car with sportlines. Also is it possibly to weld in the stock CATS between the MAC's and ORY? I kind of need it to be somewhat street legal since this is a daily driver.
The convertor will effectively make the car louder. With the stall allowing the car to rev higher from a stop you will hear the extra revs. I have an off road y-pipe and borla cat back on my car. I drive with the borla fully closed, but when and if it's open the car is miserable to drive around. It's just too loud to be cool when you are casually driving. With this you should take your new stall into consideration when picking your exhaust system.
The stall is a good move and you should add a tranny cooler as well. What are you considering, a vig 3200 (6 pump)?? This is a proven convertor and the only alternative that comes to mind is the yank st3500, which has been replaced by the yank ss3600. The vig 3200 will flash to atleast 3500, while the yank numbers relfect actual flash.
Oh yeah, there is the new tci series as well, which seem to have some nice (comparable) results.
Dont skimp on the tranny cooler, and think about purchasing drag radials <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Their is this one guy selling me the MAC headers, ORY, and 3200 converter for $650 shipped. Mac's have been on for a yr and the converter for 3,000 miles. He doesn't know the brand of the converter, he just replaced it with a higher stall (3800).
My other option is to go with a NEW 3200 Vig lock-up from DCV and keep the stock headers & CATS to keep the car somewhat quiet and keep it street legal.
