Please Help Shifting Issue Hi
I have a manual 2002 WS6 and I notice that when I am trying to DOWNSHIFT very quickly from 6th to 3rd gear at say around 65-70mph, it doesn't let me get into 3rd gear but puts me into 5th gear.
I know I am probably shifting right a I have been driving manual for sometime. When I downshift slowly by going into neutral first, I have less or no problem.
Also, I have no problem shifting UP into 3rd from 2nd even if I shift very quickly.
Please help.....is this behaviour normal for a 2002 WS6.

Re: Please Help Shifting Issue well i have an 02M6Z and i took it to the track with 600 miles on it and could not hardly get the damn thing to shift from 2nd to 3rd, i drove it like that for another 5000 miles and took it into Chevy and the flywheel / clutch were shot , they put a new through out bear. etc.. and the thing is perfect i know your pain i was so p/off that i couldnt shift it quick i only ran a 13.90 at temple w/the car before im taking the car still stock to San Ant. Friday to see what diff. it makes. I could not even try to go from 5/6 to 3rd mine would not let me .... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Re: Please Help Shifting Issue Well, I dunno what that problem is, I have a 99 T/A. This does have to do with what you are doing, or trying to do. In the cars manual it says not to downshift out of order, as in 6th to 3rd. I think it has to do with the synchros and keeping them working properly. Possibly someone else could share some insght on why the manual states this.
