code po300 I Have a 2000 TA, its flashing po300 for the code. I have changed the plugs and wires. I heard that the other reasons for this code might be due to a crank sensor ground(which looks good to me), or a mass air sensor. I am totally clueless as to what is causing the problem. This is causing a low and rough idle, and also makes the car slower. sweetsteve@2die4.com If anyone has info or suggestions or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Re: code po300 P0300 is a generic misfire code.
If you've checked plugs/wires already, here are things to look for/check :
- is engine stumbling/running rough ?
- double-check the wires/plugs. A plug not seated correctly or a wire not all the way seated on the coil/plug will cause a miss
- check for vacuum leaks, especially around the EGR/intake area. High LTrims/STrims would indicate an air leak past the MAF/vac leak. In the absence of a scan tool you can use the cigarette smoke or chemtool tests. (See if the smoke gets sucked in or if the idle raises when B-12 chemtool is sprayed onto the suspect area).
- monitor with AutoTap/scan tool to see which cylinder is missing if possible, try swapping coils if you can figure out which cylinder is missing
- check O2s

Re: code po300 First off, i wanna say thanks to BAD30th for the welcome. I will look into your suggestions. As far as wires and plugs it was hell changing those things, but i did the wire and vacuum checks this morning, and notta. I will definately check up on the rest.
