driving with open headers

driving with open headers hey i am about to get longtubes put on my car and where i am getting them put on is about a hour and 30 minutes from the exhaust shop thats putting on the rest of the exhaust. do you guys think it would be bad to drive that far with open headers.

Re: driving with open headers there is the possibility of burning out your exhaust valves. To prevent this keep your rpms REAL low, you'd want to do this anyways since anything over 3000rpm is so god awful loud. I suggest a pair of ear plugs if you value your hearing. The drone of a 1.5 hour drive will definitely not be good for your ears.
I drove mine a total of 70 miles without any ill effects. 2 trips 35 miles each. From a friends house where they were installed on a sunday to home, and then from home to the muffler shop on monday morning.. Needless to say it doesn't sound good at all, and you'll catch all kinds of attention. I did idle by a popo at a red-light without getting a glance, though.
