MTI Lid 02 Z28 Howdy! I just bought an MTI Lid with a K&N Filter and they drilled a hole in it for some sensor...I guess i will find this when I install it tomorrow. I had thought that 01 and 02 Camaros needed an extra filter peice due to the LS6 intake...why did they say I don't need one? The hole is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter and is right before the circular part of the lid at the back...
the hole you have is for the intake air temperature sensor and it is currently attached to your stock lid. be VERY CAREFUL when removing it from the stock lid. it is easy to damage it. all you have to do is unhook the wire, pull it out (again, CAREFULLY) and then pop it in the new lid.
the 01-02 cars have an AIR pump that has a hose that also attached to the driver side of the stock lid. your new lid does not have a provision for this hose. hence the need for the small K&N filter you had to purchase to plug up that tube. just insert filter, clamp tight with zip tie or small radiator hose and secure the tube someplace safe away from the belts.
