Thunder Racing Headers
Thunder Racing Headers Since QTP is doing different things and on an unknown schedule, I'm considering these headers.
I know the design is the same, but does anyone have first experience with Thunder's headers to assure me of quality?

Re: Thunder Racing Headers I personally have the QTPs on my car and love the hell out of them, however this past weekend we had put the thunder headers on a buddy's car and they are just as good and should make you just if not more happy. I don't forsee any drawbacks to the swap.
Re: Thunder Racing Headers Just a note: The QTP's are now different than the thunders, as they are a nice grade of stainless steel. Thats a bonus to some, others may feel different. Note the new low price on his web site of $675 for the race header. Same grotty style, but what is MOST important, is the "Goilet"... that's a 30 year old name that basicaly means extending the tubes merge in the collector, so it'll look like a diamond shaped spike in the center of the 4 tubes.This in my opinion will make a difference and is what makes the QTP's worth waiting for.The goal here is to avoid any abrupt increase in cross-sectional area as the header transitions into the collector. This is, of course, if you dont want to spend the extra $300 for the merge to gain the velocity.

this placement of a goilet isnt unheard of. Previously I had the high flow dynatech 1 7/8" to 3" merge collectors which utilized this application. its a very good practice for producing quality products that require each additional horsepower to be derived possible.

Re: Thunder Racing Headers Is he selling these yet? He said a couple days ago that he'd post more info, and never did. I've got a deadline on getting headers, which is why I was starting to look at more options.
And on a lesser note, at the risk of sounding vain, I'm not looking forward to amber colored headers under the hood vs the ceramic coated headers.

I am replacing my SLP Headers with these as I am installing my new motor. I'm very anxious to see how well these headers will flow with my true dual x-pipe exhaust I had before.

Re: Thunder Racing Headers Choose colr or performance or both...these grott style are nice. Coated can flake...especially if you get a set that you see pits in (rusted before coated...soemwhat common...warrentees are good if you dont mind down time) Stainless ... the word itself just look good. As far as QTP selling them now or having a GP...A few early production sets are out with more coming... most of the 1st run is probably spoken for... pre-orders always win. A GP , I'm sure...would be announced if he had the stock to fill the orders. Whats a GP gonna save 25-50 bucks??? Order now, get in line...have in by spring (which here in NY may not be for a lil' while). All I can say is if you need the ceramic look...forgo the merge and have the stainless coated! Goilet!
