Default True duals out the back concept design

Hey guys,

I was thinking and I came up with this design to get true duals out the back.

Its a very crude sketch but you get the idea.

Basically an x-pipe that merges again into one pipe and this pipe goes and connects to any aftermarket or stock exhaust system. Fitted with two QTEC electric cutouts, you can have a nice quiet ride from the mufflered catback and when needed, true duals.

Let me know what ya think

It is my understanding that the Cutout's need to be further back to keep from losing backpressure in the performance of the vehicle. I am not a exhaust expert by no means. Also, if this is true, then you would only need one cutout. However, someone else, can explain this better. Cheers.

There are many who run cutouts right past the collector flange of the headers on the y-pipe.

Just my opnion, but I don't think you'd see any of the advantages of an X-pipe with a setup like that... Plus, I wouldn't call that a "true dual" system, since all you've really done is moved the Y-pipe farther back, and put an "X" in front of it.

Just as well have the Ypipe go into a bullet and dump under the axle

yep. its just that I wanted the performance and look of the dual, but wanted it to exit out the back also. the body kit on the car has a rear valence where it needs exhaust tips and i think it would look totally gay if it was empty. so i came up with this
