Default Which Headers?

I have a 2000z28 and was wanting to know what everybody is running as far as brand and type of headers? I would like to have high flow cats and possibly keep the egr on and what ever y-pipe is needed. Plus also tell me if you had any problems installing them?

Thanks
Jason

Jason, We here at Kook's make a terrific set of headers for 98 thru 02 Camaro's/TA's. We make them in many different sizes as well, with or without air and egr tubes, even step style in stainless or mild steel coated. We're coming on board as LS1 Tech sponsors real soon. Look for our logo. Nick

Personally I run the QTP 1 3/4" Race-style longtubes with their offroad y-pipe. I would definitely look into these headers perhaps in the emission style however since you are wanting to keep E.G.R. and A.I.R. Best of luck with whatever you decide. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Don't have headers yet but all my research has me going with a set of FLP long tubes when the time comes.

I have the MAC's and I love them. Most people say to get long tubes but I feel that MAC's are the best bang for the buck. Also, they were a breeze to install. I've heard some bad things about the installation and fit of long tubes. I guess its all in what you want though. For me, I always try to compromise with price and performance, because I'm in college and don't really like to blow too much money on my car. Plus, many people say there is really not that much more power in long tubes over mid-lengths. MAC's are awesome and I think pretty well all MAC owners are quite happy with them.

i personally have the mac mid lengths. i really like them. i could really tell a big power gain once i installed them. i took the car to the track and it took about 2.5 tenths off my 1000ft. time. i dont know how much off the 1/4 mile time, cuz the closest track is only 1000ft. good luck man. MAC'S RULE.

Love to throw in my 2 cents
FLP...some complain of fittment issues
Jethot or Hooker Coated headers...several on this board have had them flake or rust through and warrenty work + downtime.
I'd look into a better header with a velocity spike in the collector like QTP, moreperformance or Kooks...in stainless. QTP and Kooks should be under $800 for the header w/ emmissions (non-merge ). Add $300 for a Y.

This whole Headers issue has me behind enemy lines waaaaaaay too long(in my own head)I should have an easy choice cause I'm gonna have to run cats and my car is mildly lowered (prokit)
I have it down to FLP's or MorePerformance . . .
The MP's have a 3" collector and Y that really fits with random tech's highest flowing cats . . .no feedback on em yet and they are a coupla hundred more than the FLP's . . .I got a pic of the Y set up if anyone else is faced with having to run cats . . .it's an oval Y and appears to fit very well . . .I just have not read of anyone using them . . .anyone wanna pic . . .mail me at dcrowley@pettinaro.com
I still dunno what I'll do
