Well........, I have the HPP3. I wasn't going to get it, but I needed something fast so I could do my gear swap before my car went away for the winter. If you want to just "tune" the car, I would look elsewhere.
The Hypertech is good if you want to do a gear swap, adjust the speedo, or turn the fans on earlier. The HPP3 is more beneficial to an A4 than an M6. I don't think its worth the cash. LS1 Edit is supposed to be good and I might look into it myself. There is something new that recently came out called "Predator". It also acts as a scan tool like GM's Tech 2. I'm not too familiar with it though since it is fairly new. Hopefully others will chime in and offer some additional advice. I'd say check out LS1 Edit personally or go to a good "performance" shop. They should steer you in the right direction (hopefully).

I agree, the HPP3 and simluar programs are generic tunes. Not specific to your car or mods. Most speed shops can do a custom tune's cheaper then a programmer. Go to lt1dave.com, he is in Ohio and does custom tunes for around 170.00. His work speaks for itself, but there are guys like this all overthe country. You will go this way eventully, if you do enough mods and really want max performance. Hope this helps... Good Luck

i have heard that predator is between hpp3 and ls1 edit, they say its great for a 6-speed, i asked about it and people have seen 12-19 rwhp from doing this. i plan on getting it, its also a scan tool and can d/l new programs off the net. and does everything hpp3 does and more, so why not?!

well why do think you NEED computer tuning? If anything find or make a friend with auto tap, get a MAFT and go dyno tume to get maybe another 10hp. But really theres prolly better thing to spend yer $$ on for best bang per buck
