Default Induction Question.... get ready for this one

Alright... Lets see if I can stump y'all. The standard replacement for the factory airbox is an intake lid. It seems as if everyone has one. How does an intake lid (even say the new TSP design) compare to an FIPK II or the Volant??!?! Decisions decisions!

A lot of this personal - how does it work, how does it look, how much does it modify the original design. The differences in performance I think are minimal, the difference in quality and how well they last a somewhat greater.

I don't like the look of the filter out front, and wanted to keep the "original" look so I went with the SLP lid and SLP CAI.

i just got the Volant this week. I like the looks alot better than the lid, and it is something that not everyone has. Yeah as far as performance they are about the same although i really didnt even notice a gain. well than again we have snow here and i cant really get on it anyway.

Just wondering, but does anyone have any dyno comparisons between these?? That's my main interest as far as difference goes...

I went with the FIPK i really prefer the look and i cant seem to find it right now but im sure i saw some dyno#s that showed HP losses at lower RPM with a lid but the peaks were higher in the upper RPM i figure that driving around town mostly i dont want to give anything up on the bottom end - just my pref please correct me if i am wrong about he dyno#

Very good question I have been asking myself that for a long time... Personally I went with the volant I love the lux and I felt the difference... I would like to see dyno comparisons though too between the volant and the replacement lid's...

If the performance IS the same, why go with the Volant that is 3X the price of a lid?????????? Seems to me you would be throwing money away. If you do have it to throw away, buy a lid and send me the difference!!!
