Default Borla system

Hey!
IF anyone out there has a Borla system on their LS1, please tell me if you like it or not and if its really as loud as people say. I've heard it on an lt1 but not the LS1. Is it really that awesome of a system?

Thanks

its a pretty good cat-back.
I like the GMMG exhaust better but i guess you have to hear the borla in real life to see what you think.

I think the corsa is better for the $$.

I've had the Borla on mine since the first spring I had it. Loud? Well when I first put in on an otherwise stock car, I ran it without any plates and yes I thought it was loud, at WOT at least. Then last fall I added long tube headers and with an ORP thru that same Borla catback (still no plates) I now know what "loud" truly means! In hindsight it was downright TAME before *L*.

I like my borla. It's pretty loud from outside the car, but it's not too bad inside the car. (Not compared to the cutout I had before).

I went from FLP's, no cats, and a cutout to FLP's, no cats, and a Wide open borla. The difference inside the car was night and day, outside the car was just a "better" sound as I've been told.

I now run the car with FLP's, hi-flow cats, and wide open borla. Interior noise is negligable, outside it's still loud. But there's no rasp and it sounds much more refined than when it had no cats.

get it and be happy. I have run borla on my car with the Q TP 1 3/4" headers and a 3" ORYP for almost 4 months now and I'm still loving it.

I've got the Borla. I run the middle sized plate and don't think that its all that loud. At WOT it makes some noise, but idling is not a whole lot louder than stock. Really not a whole lot of difference between wide open and any of the plates IMO. However, if you use the block-off plate and divert all through the muffler, its pretty quiet.

Good system, I've had mine for over 3 years now.

I too like my borla. Over a year now and not a sign of rust, all parts fit just right. I run mine with the loudest plate around town and it's great, only loud when you put your foot in it. But when I take a long drive on a trip and doin over 80 IMO it's to loud to listen to for hours. So then I just change plates and it's fine. We all have our own opinion on whats too loud or what sounds good. When I first took off the stock muffler and put on the borla I thought it was too loud and felt bad about spending the money on it. Then after driving it a few weeks it was the other way around, I was glad I put it on. Also it took some time but I could feel and hear the computer adjust to it. I can't think of a better system to have, but then I just have a few bolt on mods, not running spray on a stroker like some of these guys.

I have Borla on my 99 T/A and I LOVE IT! I bought the car used, and because of the fact it has been lowered 2 inches i can't get under it to figure out how to mess with the plates. I really don't know much about them or how they work. But I know it sounds really nice. Someone tell me how to switch out these plates? Thanks

BORLA KICKS ***!!! I had it on my 25th and when I got my 30th I switched it over. I love it, and always have. The other thing is that some people like REAL loud, some people like kinda loud, and some people like not very loud. It doesn't matter with Borla, because you can change it anytime you want to with the plates. My brother has Borla on his '98 Trans Am too. His sounds just as good, if not better (mine is the LT1 kit, his is the LS1 kit). There is hardly any difference in the two anyway. I've had mine for about 5 years now, and I wouldn't buy anything else, and my brother loves his too. Borla sounds great and looks great. Can't beat it!!
