Default Open Headers??

Hrmm... The way I understand it, for an ideal exhaust system, there needs to be a certain amount of backpressure on the engine. If this is the case, would you get better track performance running open headers or true duals? I would think that open headers would almost eliminate backpressure on the engine... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

When I installed my Hooker Headers (long tubes) I didnt have a chance to put the rest of the exhaust on for two days. But of course, I had to take the beast out street racing, praying that no cops would be around! Oh by the way, they were and I was warned. Besides bleeding eardrums are a turn off for the ladies.

It felt like the car had alot more top end, but the down low grunt was a little flat. So I welded on some dynomax bullets, with turndowns and it helped alot. So to make this long story shorter.....duals good, open bad.
