They are a little more expensive but I feel it was worth it. Besides having to wire it to the fuse box for power, it installs the same as a stock pump would. No need to change belts the stock ones are fine.

Car looks great! You're going to need to scale down the picture though, it looks bigger than 150x50.

The EWP is your choice, I'm not sure how much a new stocker is. You'll have to run a thermostat from an old SBC though. Most places sell the correct thermostats along with the pumps.

I just bought a stock pump for mine, $142. The electric ones I found were in the $500 range.

If you drive your car a lot, just get the mechanical one.

You are aware that there is still a pulley that the belt routes through though. There is just a free flow to it.

The stock pump is restricted by the thermostat, or it would pump enough to cool a Peterbuilt. If you want cooler temps, you can get a different thermostat and reset the fans. The EWP is for freeing up HP and being able to turn the pump on at will (engine stopped in the pits etc.)

My car runs cooler, I can beat the **** out of her and the temps never go up too bad. My temps usually don't get above 185. Even sitting in bumper to bumper stop and go traffic 90+ outside she only got 190. As long as you are moving your temps won't ever see 170. I am around 163 to 168 the vast majority of the time after she warms up. As soon as you come to a stop or slow the air flow, you'll still be in the 170's I love the Meziere EWP. Allows to engine to get better gas mileage as well.
Hope this helps.

I am glad I could help you out. I should mention that my fans turn on at 180* and 190* They were set when I had the EWP installed at LG Motorsports. I also have the ASP underdrive pully. This car does amazingly well on gas with the combo. Throw it in 6th, set the cruise, and forget about it. 34-37 mpg all day long, as long as I keep the speed around 80 mph. Almost forgot I also have the larger G2 radiatior, it holds 50% more coolant. Your results may vary from mine. I would still say you'll like it better then the stock pump. Max flow rate from idle, and it can be run after you shut off the motor to circulate the hot stuff out of the engine.

I know the electric pumps are nice looking and free up horsepower but in terms of cooling ability and moving volume of fluid isn't the factory pump superior?

Like I said before, they will move plenty. Both are have a restrictor plate normally referred to as a "thermostat".

Regardless of stats, these are my personal experiences with the two water pumps. The belt driven pump let the engine run a lot hotter. I am sure that had a lot to do with the fans still being run on factory settings and the stock radiator. Now with a lot more power, a lot more heat, and all the reprogramming I feel the conditions are close due to the horsepower differences. As we all know Power = Heat. So my opinion remains the same, I like the Meziere EWP much better. Better cooling, more power, engine winds up more freely, and better gas mileage. Forgot to mention the Meziere looks sweet under the hood.
