appreciate some help i was gettin ready to order the package from slp that includes smooth bellows, slp air lid, CAI and k&n filter when i realized that it for some reason was different for 98/99 and 00-02... well i bought my 1998 z a couple weeks ago and the guy put a 02 ls1 in the car.. he had receipt with it.. however the motor does not have the ls6 intake manifold.. my question is which package do i get? and what's the difference?
I would get neither honestly. Some of that stuff is money better spent elsewhere. Check with Thunder Racing or SDPC or Texas Speed & Performance first and see what kind of power packages that they can offer you. I would seriously shop around first. That induction package is just going to take your money and turn it into like 10 horsepower. You could do a cam and gain way more.
The difference will be the lid, the earlier cars didn't have a fitting on the lid for the AIR, the later ones did
FWIW I'd just buy the lid and forget the rest, use the money you save and put it towards the LS6 manifold
