Re: RIPPER or PRO-5.0 ??? I was under the impression, that basically all aftermarket shifters made quite a bit of noise. Please let me know of shifters that don't. That is one downfall of aftermarket shifters. That noise can really **** you off sometimes.

Re: RIPPER or PRO-5.0 ??? I had just purchased a Pro 5.0 with a short stick from Speed Inc. Is the short stick that Speed Inc. supplies with the shifter the same as Lou's short stick? I'm asking because I'm deployed right now and I havn't seen the shifter stick yet.

Re: RIPPER or PRO-5.0 ??? Between the two SS's I've owned I've tried the factory Hurst w/ short stick, Hurst Billet Plus & now the Ripper & the B&M is far & away the best shifter I've felt. The stick height was perfect for me & I liked the fact that it was a one piece design. It's smooth & precise without being too notchy & I haven't missed a shift since the day & installed it.

Re: RIPPER or PRO-5.0 ??? Lous short stick bends back to the driver a little bit, the LS1 speed stick is straight. I have the LS1 speed stick and it's a solid piece. <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />
Re: RIPPER or PRO-5.0 ??? Not sure what you guys mean when you talk about noise. I'm assuming you're referring to the sound when you shift, not when you're just driving right? Can someone describe this 'noise' so I can understand...I've never heard it before. Maybe my mind isn't made up after all!?! Thanks.
Re: RIPPER or PRO-5.0 ??? Had a Pro 5.0 in my 1989 GT and now have one in my Z28. Awesome shifter! Solid as rock, no slop, good return and very little added noise (I didn't cut the boot). Cut about 2/3 of the threads off and you will love it!
