Will SLP replace?
Thanks,
Travis
Always seems to be the driver side for some reason! Any clues why one side is spotless and the other is badly discolored?
Good luck!

I've already PM'd David Hamburger and Brian Reese as to options on course of action, so I should hear something in a day or so.
They will warranty the headers and have them re-coated! My suggestion to anyone experiencing coating issues, would be to provide pics of said problem and forward to SLP for review and determination. If you have your invoice #, this would also help as they need to validate the purchase.
If you purchased the vehicle second hand, then contact the previous owner, but "SLP" is stamped on their headers, so not much dispute there; however, it will reduce the delay in response time.
Good luck!
After reading that, if you think about the coating on the 409... if the surface starts to corrode under the coating... like they say it's normal for the surface of 409 SS to do....then you would think rust might eventually break through that coating. I guess the coating would need to get scratced or have an imperfection to allow the environment to get to the steel, but once it does i guess ud und up with what u had in those pics. My $.02
also from what I've heard from other people with coated headers, not nessc. Stainless ones, is that the coating sometimes flakes from so many heat cycles.

40+ passes at the track doesn't help either, but NOT spraying nor Blown, so no abnormal wear/tear to expedite the deterioration. Just normal daily driving, and some occasional track usage.
I believe SLP does have a disclaimer on those who have elected to spray due to higher exhaust temps which may possibly cause ceramic damage, so just be aware of this before submitting a claim.
Now ya can't beat that!
All I can suggest is that anyone having coating issues, please contact them!

SLP cover something under warranty.
