375 Rwhp

I'm looking into buying an LSX for my 70 camaro and I wanted to get between 350-375 RWHP. Now if I bought a bone stock 01 or newer LS1, what would I need to do to it to reach my goal? Is there a way to get there without swapping heads? Thanks!

You'd have no problem hitting that with just bolt ons and a cam.

With a good size cam and full boltons ,350-375rwhp will be easily attainable through stock 241 heads even through a built auto. Just make sure the cam is bigger than a 224/224.

staringback05 06-13-2006 06:38 PM

even without the cam he could hit that mark with full bolt-ons somebody on here got 380 with nothing but boltons and a tune

I made 390 at the wheels with a TR230/224 cam and stock heads. So I say Yes.

What consists of "full bolt ons?"

staringback05 06-13-2006 07:54 PM

a very long list...anything thats not internal in the engine....think of it and its probably bolt on..

JRracing 06-13-2006 07:57 PM

I had,LT headers, E-water pump,LS6 int,ported TB, GMS maf and a cone style filter. And a pulley.

check out my sig, I have most bolt ons, and a decent size cam and definatly made some decent power.

1BADTALS1 06-13-2006 08:35 PM

check out my sig i have 365hp and 364 ftlbs of tq. to the wheels
that was b4 the stall and the TB. the TB is not on the car yet as ive been haveing problems with it.

Damn, you got a link or the name of the member?

x-pauliber 06-13-2006 11:21 PM

Well what I'm planning on doing is buying an 01 or newer LS1, sticking it in my 70 camaro with headers and a cam right now. What cam would give me good power from 2000-6500 and also have a mean idle?

For the exhaust, I don't need any emissions, so that should help me out some. I plan on swapping heads, but at a later date.

With just a cam and headers, what would I be pushing out?

jhug 06-14-2006 12:48 AM

about 350ish for a mild cam?

Justin00SS 06-14-2006 05:15 AM

Yeah. I got ported TB, lid, LTs, ORY, and magnaflow catback. Also the TB bypass.

I touched 365rwhp. My second run of 351rwhp 352rwtq is more accurate though.

x-pauliber 06-14-2006 05:23 AM

Is that with the stock cam Justin?

Yes. Stock manifolds have never been off the car either.

I think he might have dyno'd the car on a tread-mill. :)

I'm only making 371rwhp with full boltons and a 230+ cam. :jest:

Wyckedcamaro 06-14-2006 11:25 AM

I am at 370 on a shit setup.

Here it is for power boltons and my cam:

Texas Speed Performance Lid and SLP Smooth Bellows
Shaner S2 Throttle Body
SLP 160 Thermostat
ThrottleBody Bypass Mod
Mac Midlength Headers
Mac Y pipe with Random Tech Cats
GMMG Catback
4.10 gears
230/232 .595/.595 112 LSA FM13 cam
East Side Performance Tune (bad idle sensor/ 18 inch heavy ass rims/ no 3rd gear and codes being thrown for my messed up 6 speed transmission.

I dynoed 370 rwhp and 351 rwtq

I have since switched to QTP Long Tubes... 2.5 inch true dual mandrel bent exhaust with 4 magnaflow bullets. Also have added ASP underdrive pulley. I am hoping to be in the 400 mark now.

Wish you the best.. but 380 is EASILY ACHIEVABLE if you have the means of cash
