Default Starter Problem

I have been helping with an engine swap. We got everything together and as soon as we touch the positive battery terminal the starter starts cranking.

Also, the starter solenoid was changed while the car was apart.

Could we have some wiring wrong or could the car have the wrong solenoid causing this?

Thanks in advance.

Maby you got the power and the ground backwards on the starter or something?

You said the starter solenoid was changed, I'd check that dude out before I did anything. Sounds like it might be a little stuck. You could try the ole' bang on it with a hammer trick.

Well I pecked on the solenoid a lil with a ratchet and evidentally it was stuck because it isn't doing it anymore.

Thanks
