Default descreened MAF affect on dyno tune

So since I got my car dynotuned last year, I have been trying to figure out why on one run there was like 6 degrees of kr, they tried to tune it out, then the next run there was 1-2 degrees of kr. the next run it went back up to 6 degrees. Also once in awhile, you can here it ping when it is warmer out, at higher rpms. Lately I have delved into the external tech section and seen how most recommend you should not descreen the MAF...When I bought mine, it had tbyrne MAF ends that are already descreened. my car is an a4 too. Could this be the kr/ping problem? any thoughts are welcome.

The problem with descreening the MAF and running ported ends is only present when people do it w/out a tune to basically "recalibrate" the newly hogged out MAF. If it was tuned with the MAF, theoretically there should be nothing wrong with doing it, but it will just be 1 more thing to deal with while tuning.

As for KR, I'd look at the PCV system. Do you have a catchcan? How many miles?
