Default 3.73s or Headers

Hey guys i am kinda stuck now on what next mod i am wondering if i should get a set of 3.73s to go with my 3400 stall, intake, and exhaust or if headers would be the way to go and are there any that will pass inspection and emmissions and which ones.

headers

your car will sound better, you'll get better mpg and it's a must for any future mods down the road.

the gears will probably net you a tenth or two more on average, but i won't ever put gears in my 10 bolt. i have an auto with 2.73's. i don't want to beat my rear. i can't afford a 12 bolt. 3.73's will snap your 10 bolt a lot faster if you beat on it.

btw, gears on a stalled car are good for about a tenth or two. headers are the far wiser (and parts friendly) choice.

Staying legal won't be fun. It is almost worthless to buy SMOG legal headers. I would suggest a set of long tube headers (pacesetter or the like) and just change the headers every two years for inspection.

i say it depends i would aim to eventualy get both but if you have 2.73 like i did then get gears if you have 3.23 or 3.42 then get the headers. i loved my 3.73s which i did first and i love my headers so i would say you cant go wrong either way.

well i live in Texas, and i just make the computer lie...(aka tune it) most of the shacks that do inspections dont care they just want your money. and i dont mind giving it to them as long as i get a sticker...and if someone fails you just go to the next inspector down the road...

Get the headers.

For your inspection, do they do a visual?

where do you live, in texas its sniffer for 96 and older and a visual...but the visual is hit or miss, just depends on the inspector.

well i would ask people in PA, check in the proper region forum, ask them there experiences but i think you will be ok. the only people that i hear have problems are people in CA. any way good luck with wichever mod you decide to go with either way you wont be disapointed.
