Default Intake Install

I was just curious about how long would it take average Joe to install an intake on an LS1 and how much trouble?? I know the rest of the induction system will go fast but I figure the intake will take a good bit of time.

The title says lid, and then you are talking about intake manifold I assume?? The lid takes about 3 minutes and the intake manifold takes about 2 hours.

I see the title is now changed to intake

If its your first time then it depends on whether or not you break your oil pressure sending unit and have to pull it back off again.

I used the install instructions from installuniversity and it took me less then 3 hours much easier than I thought it was going to be. Just went slow and took my time.

It's actually pretty easy, just take your time. Leave the fuel rail on it until you get it out, alot easier to remove out of the car. And be real careful sliding the new one in place, it really sucks having to take it off the next day.

Intake and lid probly about 2 hours or so if your good with a wrench, you will want a 3/8" fuel line disconnect tool and yeah, be carefull to lift it vertically first then out, and dont forget your MAP sensor and brake booster hose is in the back. Dont over torque the manifold bolts!

You dont need to disconnect the fuel line, just move the entire rail assy to the side after the manifold is unbolted.
